Mauricio Kuri González, the state’s governor, highlighted the attractiveness of the state for those arriving from other places in search of better living conditions.

This comes after Áreas Consultores ranked Querétaro as the state with the highest perception of good quality of life in the country, with a 57.5% approval rating among respondents. The survey consisted of 14,280 interviews conducted online between August 30 and September 4, with a confidence level of 98% and a margin of error of approximately 0.8%.

“Querétaro is a state that offers a lot, that is a safe place, a place where people are good, where there are job opportunities, but we also have many challenges that we must face, and the government alone cannot do it, and neither can the city alone,” he expressed.

According to the survey results, Querétaro was followed by Coahuila with 55.6% and Nuevo León with 52.9%. In contrast, the states with the lowest perception of good quality of life were Morelos (28.8%), Tlaxcala (28.4%), and Puebla (27.8%).

The state leader also addressed the population growth facing the state and the challenges this phenomenon entails. “As long as Querétaro continues to advertise itself, it advertises itself, and there’s no way we’re going to set a bar for them to pay for it. We have to welcome people, prepare ourselves, and face these challenges regarding energy, water, security, and jobs,” he noted.

Kuri González added that the recognition of Querétaro as an attractive place to live is primarily due to the recommendation of those who come from other parts of the country. “That’s why they often come,” he commented, referring to internal migration.

The survey also showed that, nationally, 40.1% of participants rated their quality of life as good, 51.6% as average, and 8.2% as poor. In this context, Querétaro stood out as the entity with the best perception of well-being, although it faces the challenge of providing public services in the face of population growth.
