A family was attacked on the Mexico–Puebla highway, heading toward Mexico City, by a group of individuals identified as members of La Suerte Sonidera. Using their modus operandi as a “bumper-buster,” they smashed the vehicle with tools and assaulted the occupants.
According to witnesses, the attackers were traveling in several cars and blocked the family’s path to force them to stop. Once stopped, they got out armed with sticks and pipes and hit the car, causing material damage and panic among the occupants.
The incident occurred in broad daylight, causing alarm among other motorists traveling on the highway. However, few stopped for fear of also being attacked by the violent group.
Preliminary reports indicate that the attack was motivated by an alleged grievance following a traffic incident, although the attack crossed the line, turning into a gang ambush.
The victims managed to escape unharmed, albeit with a severe nervous breakdown, while their vehicle was practically destroyed. So far, it has not been confirmed whether they filed a complaint with the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico.
Social media users have identified the attackers as members of the sonidera group known as La Suerte Sonidera, noting that this is not the first time they have participated in acts of violence in the metropolitan area.
The case has sparked outrage on digital platforms, where motorists are demanding greater vigilance on the Mexico-Puebla highway, considered one of the most dangerous due to the frequency of robberies and car-ramming attacks.
