While leading the presentation of her program, “The Transformation Advances,” in Mazatlán, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo pledged to fill all roads in Sinaloa, build a campus for Rosario Castellanos University, and other projects of broad social significance to benefit thousands of families in the state with housing, education, and childcare centers.
The president’s participation initially focused on an overview of the federal programs being implemented in the country.
However, as part of her message, and before the state governor, Rubén Rocha Moya, and thousands of Sinaloans gathered at the Convention Center, the federal executive emphasized that the San Ignacio-Tayoltita highway (Durango) has already been completed and will be inaugurated shortly.
She also spoke about the vehicular bridge already under construction at the intersection of Mexico City Highway 15 and the Óscar Pérez Escobosa bypass, at the northern entrance to Mazatlán. She also pledged to improve the federal highways that cross the state with specialized equipment.
“My commitment is that we will fill potholes and resurface all federal highways in Sinaloa. A repair train has already arrived to begin paving. They are paving crews.”
The announcement was well received by the thousands of attendees, to whom Sheinbaum Pardo stated that, in terms of infrastructure, the port of Topolobampo is also being modernized with the support of the Navy.

She also stated that with the housing program, thousands of families earning less than two minimum wages will benefit from one of the 57,418 homes that will be built through Infonavit and Fovissste.
Sheinbaum Pardo emphasized that young people must be in the classroom, and that is why educational programs are also being implemented in Sinaloa, where a site for the Rosario Castellanos University is already being sought.
“We are building three campuses: one in Culiacán and two here in Mazatlán. This is the conversion of secondary schools into high schools, and we have to come to an agreement, Governor, to see where we can build the Rosario Castellanos National University, a university campus here in Sinaloa.”
Another announcement that received applause from those in attendance was the announcement of daycare centers.
“What used to be IMSS daycare centers, we now call childcare and education centers. There will be 39 in Sinaloa to support mothers, (with) free services.”
Among the projects he also mentioned are the construction of new operating rooms and burn areas at the Culiacán Pediatric Hospital, the construction of the IMSS Regional General Hospital in Culiacán, and the expansion of the Sinaloa Psychiatric Hospital, also in the state capital.
