Million-dollar drug busts in Sinaloa, Sonora, and Baja California: methamphetamine, marijuana, and heroin seized

In various security operations, authorities seized several drug shipments, including methamphetamine and heroin, resulting in millions of dollars in damages for criminal groups.

There were also seizures of chemical substances. These operations took place on September 26, 27, and 28, the results of which are highlighted by the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC).

Seizures in Sonora: Thousands of Cigarettes and Opium Gum
During the aforementioned days, four operations were carried out, two of them in Nogales, which resulted in the seizure of illicit substances. In the first operation, members of the Army and the National Guard arrested a person with 74,000 cigarettes and 1,200 doses of methamphetamine.

Meanwhile, in a second operation, security agents found 34,000 doses of marijuana and 2.3 kilograms of opium gum, as well as magazines and cartridges.

These losses total 8.9 million pesos (6.1 million in the first case and 2.8 million in the second) for criminal groups.

Methamphetamine in Sinaloa

In the state governed by Rubén Rocha Moya, specifically in Culiacán, military personnel seized just over 83 kilos of methamphetamine, another 410 liters of the same substance, as well as 440 liters of toluene and 95 liters of hydrochloric acid.

“The value of the seized drugs is 131.6 million pesos,” indicates the daily report of the SSPC.

In addition to this, 23 areas containing concentrations of material used in the manufacture of methamphetamine were discovered in various towns in Culiacán and Cosalá. This represents an economic blow of 490 million pesos.

Seizures in Baja California, Michoacán, and Coahuila

Three people were arrested in Tijuana following a complaint. The captured individuals were in a vehicle with 47.5 kilos of methamphetamine and 1.2 kilos of heroin. The substances were valued at 13.3 million pesos.

In addition, another seven kilos of methamphetamine were seized in Michoacán, a shipment valued at 1.8 million pesos. Meanwhile, in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, 2.6 million pesos worth of cocaine were seized, with 12 kilos of the substance found.

In other words, the total seizures indicate that in three days, security agents made a profit exceeding 648 million pesos, and it was in Sinaloa that the actions with the greatest economic impact were carried out.
