Would you like to go to the moon? Well, from October 1st to 5th, you can visit a monumental moon, the work of Luke Jerram, in Plaza Fundadores, in the Historic Center of the municipality of Querétaro.

Through social media, Felipe Macías Olvera, mayor of Querétaro, invited citizens to visit the moon, which he said is an exact replica.

The mayor emphasized that it took six months of NASA scanning to obtain this replica, equivalent to half a million photographs. He also mentioned that it will allow visitors to see the dark side of the moon, which cannot be seen from anywhere in the world.

“We didn’t have to go to the moon; the moon came to Querétaro. This spectacular monumental moon you see behind me is an exact replica of the moon. Each centimeter of this moon is equivalent to 5 km of the lunar surface. It took six months of NASA scanning to obtain this replica of the moon, equivalent to half a million photographs,” he said.

After Plaza Fundadores, the monumental moon will be on display from October 8 to 12 in Alameda Hidalgo; from October 15 to 19 in Santa Rosa Jáuregui; and from October 22 to 26 in Jardín Guerrero.

Macías Olvera added that between 6:00 and 7:00 p.m., there will be cultural, musical, and artistic events surrounding the work.

“Throughout this entire month of October, the month of the best moons, the most beautiful moons in Querétaro. And, in addition, between 6 and 7 p.m., this moon will be accompanied by cultural, musical, and artistic performances,” he added.
