The Tabasco government reported that surveillance is ongoing on the Pichucalco River in Teapa and Centro, amid forecasts of very heavy rains.
The Tabasco government reported that constant monitoring is ongoing on the Pichucalco River, near the municipalities of Teapa and Centro, due to forecasts of very heavy to intense rains that could cause runoff and affect lagoons in the region.
State authorities indicated that these measures seek to prevent risks and safeguard the population, and therefore are coordinating with the Tabasco State Civil Protection Institute (IPCET) and Conagua (National Water Commission) to monitor river flow in real time.
The government urged Tabasco families to remain attentive to official information and avoid spreading rumors that could cause confusion. It also recommended being prepared with a family emergency plan, identifying temporary shelters, and safeguarding important documents if necessary.
According to weather reports, the rainy season will continue to bring significant rainfall to the mountainous and plain areas, increasing the risk of river overflows and impacts to surrounding communities.
“We ask that citizens stay informed exclusively through official media outlets from the People’s Government, the IPCET (Spanish Institute of Water Resources), and Conagua (Conagua),” the state official reiterated.
