German tourism continues to gain ground in the Mexican Caribbean and is emerging as one of the European markets with the greatest potential for the winter season, highlighted the Honorary Consul of Germany in Quintana Roo, Anet Grace Arens Medina.
Airlines to Facilitate Connectivity
The diplomat acknowledged that the arrival of German visitors has seen a slight decline recently; however, she anticipated a significant rebound toward the end of the year with the resumption of operations by airlines such as Lufthansa and Condor, which will facilitate direct connectivity between Germany and Quintana Roo.
“With the winter season on the horizon, the Mexican Caribbean is preparing to welcome more European travelers, and Germany will continue to be a key market for its long stays and significant economic impact,” said Arens Medina.
Long Stays with Broad Impact
German tourists, she explained, typically vacation between 10 days and two weeks, which represents a strong positive impact on lodging, restaurants, and tourist activities in the region.
Furthermore, the German market contributes not only economically but also in cooperation. Germany participates in projects related to sargassum management, as well as in women’s justice programs, strengthening the social and environmental ties with Quintana Roo.
The Mexican Caribbean remains one of the preferred destinations for Europeans, who recognize it for its tourist infrastructure, natural beauty, and perceived safety. With the return of strategic air routes and the winter season approaching, German tourism is expected to have a historic close to the year in the state.
