With an initiative to promote the education and professional development of Indigenous youth in the state, the Government of Jalisco, through the Undersecretariat of Human Rights, announced the beneficiaries of the Human Rights Assistance and Support Program Towards a Society of Equals 2025, Modality A.
In fiscal year 2025, this modality contemplates the awarding of 495 one-time scholarships, worth 10,000 pesos each, to the same number of upper secondary and higher education students belonging to Indigenous peoples and communities.
The purpose is to facilitate their access, retention, and completion in the educational system.
To be considered, applicants must meet requirements such as belonging to an Indigenous community, residing in the state of Jalisco, being enrolled in upper secondary and/or higher education, and, if minors, present a letter of commitment signed by their parent or guardian.
The applications were evaluated by a Review Committee composed of specialists, who analyzed the documentation and compliance with established criteria, ensuring a transparent, equitable, and inclusive process.
“Each scholarship represents an open door to the future. By supporting Indigenous youth, we not only recognize their efforts and talent, but also their essential role in building a more just, equitable, and diverse Jalisco. Investing in their education means investing in the development of the entire state,” said Alberto Bayardo Pérez Arce, Undersecretary of Human Rights.
The beneficiaries of Modality A can be found at the following link, where the folios assigned to each applicant can be found: goo.su/ofCW .
The program, designed to reduce inequalities and promote a culture of peace, recognizes education as an essential tool for breaking cycles of exclusion and strengthening the social fabric in communities.
Through this direct support, assistance is provided to those who face the greatest barriers to continuing their academic education, thus promoting their right to education, access to better job opportunities, and their active participation in the development of their territories.
With this program, the Government of Jalisco reaffirms its commitment to equal opportunities and social justice by promoting public policies that ensure that all people, regardless of their origin or condition, fully exercise their rights and develop their potential in the Jalisco way, with dignity, inclusion, and hope.
