There is currently one weekly flight between Shanghai and Guadalajara and another from Hong Kong to the capital of Jalisco. Both operate a Boeing 747-400.
“All flights on Geodis’ dedicated cargo service from Asia to Guadalajara are operated by Atlas Air, and all capacity on Atlas Air flights from Asia to Guadalajara is reserved exclusively for Geodis,” Miguel Muñoz, general manager of Geodis Mexico, told Air Cargo News.
The French company highlighted the continued operation of this service even during the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent geopolitical disruptions to global supply chains, demonstrating the route’s resilience.
“Reaching 500 flights is an incredible achievement and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to customers in Mexico and Latin America. This milestone reflects that Geodis Mexico has strengthened its position in the local market and would not have been possible without the collaboration between our teams in Mexico and Asia, as well as our offices in Paris and the United States,” he stated.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at Guadalajara Airport for Flight 500, and a commemorative plaque was placed on the plane.
Just in June, Geodis opened a new office in Guadalajara as part of its strategic expansion in the country and the region, which responds to the growth of its Freight Forwarding business line.
