The report that made Noroña angry

Senator Gerardo Fernández Noroña’s rebelliousness in adhering to Morena’s austerity principles and his response to questions about his assets continue to position him as a controversial figure for the 4T.

During 2025, Noroña has accumulated a series of scandals, such as the nearly 160,000 pesos he spent on a first-class trip to France and the more than 250,000 pesos he spent on a private plane.

However, the credit purchase of a house worth 12 million pesos in Tepoztlán, Morelos, continues to generate controversy, especially due to the lack of transparency regarding how he bought it.

He even threatened to sue journalists for allegedly violating his privacy, in what amounts to an attempt at censorship.

This Wednesday, ADN Noticias presented a report revealing irregularities in the acquisition of the house where Noroña currently lives.

The production of this report was what angered Noroña and the reason he threatened journalists who were only doing their job.

The report reveals a series of contradictions in the senator’s statement, which, according to his asset declaration, he acquired the property in November 2024.

Among the anomalies presented is that Noroña’s house is located on an irregular property, as it is on communal land.

Even community members in the San Juan Tlacotenco area asserted that the so-called “House of Silence” is not registered with the communal land authorities and that Noroña’s name is not listed in the communal property books.

The ADN Noticias report also reveals a discrepancy between Noroña’s statements about acquiring the house in 2024, when it was only registered in the Public Registry in July 2025 in the name of Austrian citizen Gisela María Hengl Fleissner.

Furthermore, the 2,035-square-meter property was only divided in June 2025.

These contradictions cast doubt on the legal validity of the purchase and raise questions that Noroña himself refuses to clarify.

In an attempt to curb the media’s work, the senator threatened to file a complaint against ADN Noticias for alleged violations of his privacy.

This does not take into account that, as a senator of the Republic, he is a public official and has an obligation to be accountable to the people of Mexico.

In his most recent interview, Fernández Noroña was questioned about his expenses and transparency regarding his income; however, the senator has refused.

“I don’t have to be transparent about anything, I’ve already said: nothing to comment on. I’m going to continue traveling the country,” he said.
