The 2025 Day of the Dead Nautical Festival, which has been held for five years, will return with its parade of decorated and illuminated boats with altars of the dead, parading through the Bay of Cabo San Lucas.

It will take place from November 1st to 4th in the Bay of Cabo San Lucas, with a program full of artistic and cultural activities, such as dances representing indigenous and ethnic communities, altar competitions on the marina walkway, and catrina and catrine contests, according to Guillermo Rivelino, general director of Festivales Náuticos MX.

Around 30 boats will participate in the event, all decorated and illuminated with colorful lights, with an average cost of 3,000 to 5,000 pesos per participant.

“Some invest more, others less, but the important thing is that they join an ancient Mexican tradition,” said Captain Juan García.

This festival will feature 100 exhibitors, who will have the opportunity to showcase their talent and the creation of various crafts.

To liven up the atmosphere, there will be live bands, and monumental pieces and traditional altars will be displayed along Lázaro Cárdenas Boulevard and the Marina, as well as in Amelia Wilkes Plaza.

The organizer of the Festival Náutico MX indicated that luxury cruise ships are expected to arrive with more than 10,000 tourists, who will be able to experience and experience the ceremony on an authentic living altar facing the sea in the port of Cabo San Lucas.

Last year, 20 boats participated, parading with large decorations alluding to the Day of the Dead, while the attendance of residents and tourists exceeded 30,000 during the festival.

The activities took place at various locations, including Amelia Wilkes Plaza, the Golden Zone, hotels and restaurants on Médano Beach, and the marina promenade in Cabo San Lucas.
