Extermination of dogs at the Mérida Central Supply Center

At least 15 dogs were poisoned to death at the Mérida Central de Abastos (Central Supply Center), a municipal company of the Mérida City Council headed by Ricardo Béjar Herrera, appointed by Mayor Cecilia Patrón Laviada.
—“Today there were 15 dogs from the Central de Abastos, 15‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️. In a place where the tenants care for and feed them, sterilize them, and even help other dogs like the ones we rescued,” the rescue organization Huellitas Franco y Fabio (Ale Noh Basto) denounced.

This situation is unacceptable; more and more animals are dying in Mérida every day. What’s going on? Justice is urgently needed, they demanded from their social media profile, following the events that occurred over the course of Monday night and Tuesday morning.

They question the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) about whether there has been any progress in “finding out who is committing these crimes.”
In addition to Béjar Herrera, the administration of the Central de Abastos includes Gricélida Vázquez Escobar, Administration Coordinator, and Luis Alejando Interian. Sosa, Operations Coordinator.
