This celebration preserves the roots and identity of San Miguel through its traditional sweets and the warmth of its people.
On behalf of Mayor Mauricio Trejo, Councilman Rafael Torres shared a message of support and recognition from the Municipal Government to the families who produce this sweet tradition.
“I am very happy to see that San Miguel families continue to keep these traditions alive, which identify us throughout the world. I wish you much success, good sales, and remember that you have the support of the municipality to continue preserving our roots,” said Torres Sánchez.
Speaking on behalf of the alfeñique artisans, Magdalena Huerta, teacher and secretary of the Reverend Father Antonio Bustamante Traditionalist Association, highlighted the pride of local producers in keeping this artisanal heritage alive.
Finally, authorities and members of the association performed the traditional ribbon cutting and toured the stalls where the emblematic alfeñiques and other artisanal products made by talented local hands are displayed.
