Four state police officers were temporarily removed from their positions after physically assaulting two minors riding a motorcycle during an alleged pursuit, according to the State DIF System. The events, which occurred in recent days in this state, are under ministerial investigation.

Fernando Oceguera Miramontes, Attorney for the Defense of Children and Adolescents at the Campeche DIF, explained that the case is pending before ministerial authorities and that the institution will provide comprehensive support. “Because these are adolescents, co-representation will be carried out to determine responsibility for the minors,” he explained.

The official assured that the Attorney General’s Office will actively participate alongside the adolescents’ parents to ensure that the officers involved are punished. “We will be present at all stages of the proceedings to defend the rights of the minors,” Oceguera emphasized.

To date, the state Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection has not issued an official statement on the incident, but internal sources confirmed the preventive suspension of the officers while the investigation progresses.

The State DIF reiterated its commitment to zero tolerance for any form of violence against children and adolescents and made the hotline 800 624 42 42 available for similar complaints.
