The Querétaro Prosecutor’s Office obtained a formal indictment against a man for his alleged involvement in a specific type of fraud, stemming from the fraudulent sale of vehicles at a shopping center in Juriquilla, in the municipality of Querétaro.
According to the investigation, the accused advertised vehicles for sale on social media, arranging to meet victims at the aforementioned shopping center, where he presented himself as an advisor for an automotive finance company. After receiving payments of varying amounts, he failed to deliver the vehicles.
As part of the investigation, the Criminal Investigation Police (PID) identified the profiles used, confirmed the existence of an office linked to the purported company, and obtained identifications from the victims, who directly identified the accused as responsible for the fraudulent transactions.
Based on the evidence gathered, the Prosecutor’s Office requested and obtained an arrest warrant, which was executed by PID agents. At the initial hearing, the Judge of Control determined to link him to the process and imposed the precautionary measure of justified preventive detention, granting a period of two months of complementary investigation.
