The agreement stipulates that this is the result of efforts undertaken by the governor during his trip to Spain nine months ago, where discussions began to bring this world-class event to the state.

“Durango has it all: mountains, valleys, desert, and tropical microclimates; it’s the perfect setting for a race of this magnitude,” Villegas Villarreal emphasized at a press conference held at Bayacora Cañón del Chan Park, where the race route was officially unveiled.

The race is expected to generate an estimated economic impact of 300 million pesos, with the participation of professional cyclists, renowned figures, and visitors from various countries, which will position the state as a leader in sports tourism, the governor added.

“It’s a pleasure to host these kinds of events so they become a permanent fixture and Durango gains international recognition,” said Villegas Villarreal, explaining that the competition will consist of four stages: Durango–Nombre de Dios, Nombre de Dios–Los Llanitos, Los Llanitos–El Salto del Agua Llovida, and El Salto del Agua Llovida–Durango, with daily routes of between 90 and 110 kilometers, covering everything from desert to forest.

For his part, Jesús Gustavo García Fernández, president of Experiencias Group, thanked the governor for his support and stated that “it’s an honor to be in Durango presenting the fifth stage of the Titan World Series,” which brings together the best cyclists on the planet.

The competition will take place amidst Durango’s natural landscapes, joining iconic locations such as Morocco, the Red Sea, Saudi Arabia, Europe, and Patagonia, solidifying Mexico as a world-class destination for adventure sports.

Similarly, the City Secretary, Bonifacio Herrera, emphasized that this international series represents great news for Durango and an opportunity to showcase the state globally through sports and adventure tourism.

In turn, the Secretary of Tourism, Elisa Haro Ruiz, noted that they are already working on training and professional development for tourism and sports service providers, with the goal of ensuring Durango is ready to host an event of this magnitude and offer a first-class experience to visitors.

El gobernador de Durango anunció que el estado será sede de una de las competencias más desafiantes y reconocidas que atraerá a los mejores atletas.
