The restaurant sector in Mazatlán is registering an increase in reservations for this weekend, thanks to the arrival of sporting events and the upcoming Buen Fin (Mexico’s Black Friday equivalent).

The sporting events held in Mazatlán generate tourism, which in turn benefits restaurants, stated Erick Mandujano Caro.

The president of the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry in Mazatlán stated that occupancy in establishments reached 80 percent this weekend.

“Restaurant occupancy is above normal for a weekend without payday, thanks to the sporting events,” he said.

He emphasized that sports tourism has become a key driver for the economic reactivation of Mazatlán, generating significant revenue for the food service sector.

Mandujano Caro indicated that this trend will continue, as restaurants have already begun implementing strategies to attract more diners for the upcoming long weekend, such as promotions, complimentary items, and discounts.

“We are aiming for the highest possible turnout; some offer complimentary tickets, others discounts or benefits for future visits, but we definitely believe it will be a good weekend,” he said.
