The tourism sector is expected to generate 43 billion pesos in revenue and attract 1.15 million tourists during the long weekend of November 13-17, coinciding with the commemoration of the Mexican Revolution and the Buen Fin (Mexico’s Black Friday equivalent), according to estimates from the Federal Ministry of Tourism.
Spending is projected to be concentrated on lodging and tourist services, such as food, transportation, and shopping, with a 1.5% increase expected compared to the economic impact of 2024.
The national average hotel occupancy rate is expected to be 68.2%, a 1.3 percentage point increase compared to the same weekend in 2024, the federal agency detailed.
The destinations expected to see the highest visitor numbers include the Riviera Maya (82.7% occupancy), Puerto Vallarta (82.2% occupancy), Los Cabos (79.1% occupancy), Cancún (77.5% occupancy), and Mérida (74.5% occupancy).
Furthermore, the Ministry of Tourism anticipates significant occupancy rates, exceeding 65%, in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Puebla, Acapulco, and Monterrey.
The Confederation of National Chambers of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Concanaco-Servytur) projects sales of 200 billion pesos, with the participation of 200,000 businesses nationwide.
