FBI-wanted killer arrested in Puebla

Mario Guadalupe N., a man considered a priority target by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for whom a reward was offered, was captured in Puebla.

The crime he committed occurred in February 2012 in California, United States; according to the U.S. agency, he murdered a man.

The Puebla State Attorney General’s Office reported the arrest this Wednesday following an operation that led to his capture, carried out in coordination with the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection and the National Institute of Migration.

During his arrest, narcotics were found in his possession; the FBI had offered $25,000 for information leading to his whereabouts.

According to information from the three Mexican government agencies, Mario Guadalupe N. used two different identities, also going by the name José Francisco.

FBI records indicated that the suspect participated in the fatal shooting of another man during an attempted robbery on February 1, 2012, in Fairfield, California.

He was charged with homicide in the Solano County Superior Court.

In February 2022, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California issued an arrest warrant for him after he fled to evade prosecution.

Following his arrest in Puebla, authorities transported him by air to Benito Juárez International Airport in Mexico City and subsequently to Houston International Airport in the United States.
