Two-year-old Jazlin is successfully recovering from the burns she suffered on Wednesday, September 10, when a gas tanker overturned on the La Concordia Bridge in Mexico City.
Jazlin was transferred to Galveston, Texas, to be treated at Shriners Hospitals for Children because she had burns covering approximately 60% of her body, especially her face, arms, and legs.
She remained there for two months and five days, during which time she recovered after undergoing skin graft surgery on her hands, feet, and head.
Now, Jazlin and her mother have returned home so the little girl can continue her recovery, thanks to the heroic act of her grandmother, who died protecting her.
