As part of the strategy to boost air connectivity and consolidate the state’s economic growth, Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño announced the addition of a new route operated by Transportes Aéreos Regionales (TAR México), as well as increased flight frequencies to key destinations in northern Mexico.
The governor emphasized that a strategic investment was finalized with the airline to strengthen regional mobility, promote domestic tourism, and boost business travel. Thanks to this agreement, he said, starting in December, an Xpress flight will begin operating from Hermosillo International Airport “General Ignacio Pesqueira García” to Mazatlán International Airport “General Rafael Buelna,” with five weekly flights.
Governor Alfonso Durazo highlighted that this new air connection is part of the efforts to consolidate Sonora as a strategic hub in northwestern Mexico by expanding its routes to destinations with significant economic and tourism growth.
For his part, Roberto Gradillas Pineda, Secretary of Economy and Tourism, reported that the Hermosillo-Ciudad Juárez route will increase its operations by 25%, representing an additional 5,400 seats per month and a total of 10 weekly flights.
He also emphasized that these actions, promoted by Governor Durazo, strengthen the destination’s competitiveness and increase visitor traffic during one of the peak tourist seasons.
