The National Housing Commission (CONAVI) confirmed that Baja California Sur will be one of the states included in the first formal delivery of the federal government’s new housing program, with the allocation of 176 homes for the municipality of Los Cabos.
During the morning press conference this Monday, November 24, CONAVI’s Director General, Rodrigo Chávez Contreras, presented the list of states that will receive homes in December, with Los Cabos appearing among the municipalities with the highest number of homes assigned in this phase.
According to the official table presented this morning, Los Cabos will receive 176 homes, a higher number than that granted to other municipalities included in this initial phase. With this, Baja California Sur joins the launch of the “Housing for Well-being” program.
The confirmed deliveries for December also include municipalities in Hidalgo, Michoacán, Morelos, Nayarit, Sonora, Tabasco, Yucatán, and Zacatecas, for a total of 1,530 homes distributed across 14 locations nationwide.
Chávez Contreras detailed that, at the national level, CONAVI is working on 393 properties totaling 1,640 hectares, where the construction of 221,477 homes is projected.
Toward the 2025 goal, the agency is already working on 206 properties covering 725 hectares, with 86,151 homes under construction, in the preliminary work phase, or under contract.
Of the total projected:
20% will be housing for young people, students, or workers.
17,230 homes will be under a social rental scheme. More than 216,000 families registered
The director also reported that the third registration phase has concluded, reaching more than 216,000 registered families:
78% women
22% men
31% female heads of household
6% Indigenous or Afro-Mexican people
4% people with disabilities
The deliveries confirmed for December also include municipalities in Hidalgo, Michoacán, Morelos, Nayarit, Sonora, Tabasco, Yucatán, and Zacatecas, for a total of 1,530 households distributed across 14 locations nationwide.
The assembly and lottery process for allocation will take place from December 1st to 18th and will involve SEDATU (Ministry of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development), the Ministry of Welfare, the Ministry of Anti-Corruption and Good Governance, and the Ministry of the Interior.
