This week, truckers and farmers continued their protests with road blockades in various parts of the country, affecting the movement of thousands of vehicles. Here’s what you need to know about any demonstrations today, November 28, 2025, on Mexican highways.

In context: Truckers and farmers resumed their protests with road blockades to demand, primarily, greater security, better prices for their products, a halt to the reform of the National Water Law, and the approval of the new General Water Law, an initiative of Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum.

Truckers and farmers had already threatened the road blockades and carried them out starting Monday, November 24, 2025.

Are there road blockades today?

After four consecutive days of road blockades and dialogue, authorities from the Ministry of the Interior (Segob) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (Sader), along with truckers and farmers, reached an agreement on Thursday, November 27, 2025.

As part of this agreement, the protesters pledged to immediately lift the road blockades; however, as of Thursday night, some closures remained in place.

Agricultural sector protesters lifted several road blockades in some states, including:

Sinaloa

Sonora

They maintained the protests and closures in the following states:

Michoacán

Jalisco

Chihuahua

Michoacán

Michoacán is one of the states that maintained highway blockades at some points, using articulated vehicles, tractors, and rocks, according to the local Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT).

According to the SICT, the blockades continued on Highway 15D Maravatío-Zapotlanejo, near Ocotlán, at kilometer 426, in both directions.

On Friday morning, the agency announced that the toll booths had finally been reopened.

Jalisco

On Friday morning, the Jalisco SICT reported that federal highways and toll roads were operating normally after the protesters lifted the blockades.

Chihuahua

At today’s morning press conference, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, head of the Ministry of the Interior (Segob), mentioned that there was still a blockade in Chihuahua, but “we are already on our way out of this conflict.”
