An explosive attack damaged four vehicles parked at the Citizen Security Center and alarmed residents of the Huertos Familiares neighborhood in Mazatlán, authorities confirmed Thursday night.
The Municipal Police station is located next to the Luis Donaldo Colosio bypass, a few meters from the Teletón rehabilitation center.
This month, three attacks have been registered against beer outlets, one of them with explosives, which left one person dead.
Authorities determined that the explosive was homemade, but it damaged four vehicles and mobilized security and emergency services.
Municipal Police officers were the first responders to the incident, conducting the initial investigation at the scene and reporting no injuries.
To preserve evidence, the area was cordoned off by security forces.
Personnel from the Mexican Navy, the Ministry of National Defense, the National Guard, the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection, and the Deputy Attorney General’s Office arrived at the scene and joined the response and forensic investigation efforts.
The type of device used will be determined through the corresponding forensic analysis.
Authorities are urging citizens traveling through the area to exercise extreme caution and respect the instructions of the authorities.
