Querétaro takes a leap into the future: aerial deliveries with drones begin

Residents of the Querétaro metropolitan area will soon have access to a world-class service, previously only seen in the United States with companies like Amazon and Walmart: package and merchandise delivery by drone.

The mayor of Querétaro, Felipe Fernando Macías, announced that Flyzz—a company incubated under the Bloquers brand—will begin delivering packages by air, a service already offered in North America by companies like Zipline and DroneUp.

“What once seemed like science fiction or something out of a futuristic movie is about to become a reality here in Querétaro,” the mayor stated on his social media accounts.

The company, for its part, defines this strategy as a revolution in logistics, not only in the state but throughout Mexico.

“With our fleet of autonomous drones, we offer faster, more environmentally friendly, and more efficient deliveries for the e-commerce of the future,” they stated on their social media.

With this technology, they aim to deliver 10 times faster than existing services, in under half an hour, using AI-optimized routes, 24/7 operations, and regardless of weather conditions; all under contract.

In the United States, orders are placed online with the physical store, and drones deliver the order to the customer’s address. They are equipped with a GPS tracker and cameras to ensure safe delivery to the owner.

Flyzz, which will offer the service in Querétaro, states on its website that pricing and logistics details will be announced soon.

The company has a presence in the state, offering courses at ICATEQ and collaborating with organizations such as COPARMEX and municipal Civil Protection offices, to whom they are providing training.
