The local government will create a program for expedited border crossings for people who work in the United States and live in Tijuana, according to Pedro Montejo Peterson, Tijuana’s Secretary of Economic Development (SEDETI).

He explained that they are still finalizing the exact times for this program, which aims to reduce wait times through the Fast Lane, also known as the medical lane.

“We want to give people the opportunity to cross at specific times, which are yet to be determined, and with this, we hope to support at least 500 people through this new program,” he said.

He explained that the San Ysidro and Otay Fast Lanes will be used, and the program’s application period will be launched soon, beginning in the first week of January.

“We don’t yet have a cost; all the specific details will be released in the second week of December and will be included in the application,” he said.

He clarified that the nationality of those interested in this call for applications will not be a factor.
