The state capital is preparing to offer a variety of festive activities throughout December.
During the holiday season, the streets of Zacatecas will be adorned with Christmas lights, once again featuring a special illumination under the theme of Peace, Tradition, and Family.
The festivities will begin on December 1st with the start of its iconic Festival of Lights, where millions of lights will transform key locations in the historic center into a dreamlike village.
The Plaza de Armas, for example, will once again become a Christmas Village, while young people strolling along Avenida Hidalgo can take photos in the tunnel of lights, which they can then share on social media.
Throughout the holiday season, there will be family events, concerts, street fairs, and a wide selection of seasonal food and drinks, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
The crown jewel of Zacatecas’ holiday celebrations will arrive on December 18th, the date of the Christmas Parade featuring Santa Claus, the Three Wise Men, and dozens of other characters.
This year, the parade will begin at 6:00 p.m. in front of the 30-30 Machine and will end at the Fountain of the Conquistadors. It’s worth noting that admission to these events is completely free.
