The Government of the State of Mexico and the College of Notaries are joining forces to strengthen the culture of legality in the state by awarding the first 90 certificates in the EC1420 Competency Standard, which promotes transparency and legal certainty in the state’s economic development by preventing illicit activities such as money laundering.
They are also working on real estate certification to protect and safeguard the assets of the people of the State of Mexico, for which 69 certificates were awarded.
In this regard, Jesús George Zamora, Legal Counsel for the State of Mexico, emphasized that the EC1420 Competency Standard Certification, “Development of notarial processes related to vulnerable activities,” allows for the professionalization of those involved in acts and contracts with a high financial impact, as well as in the prevention of money laundering.
He indicated that with this certification, the notarial sector assumes its role as the first filter of legality, prepared to exercise public faith with rigor and ethics, and recognized the College of Notaries of the State of Mexico for promoting these types of tools that keep the notary profession in the State of Mexico at the forefront.
“The awarding of these certificates allows us to witness an act that encapsulates the vision of our President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and our Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez: to build a country and a State of Mexico that unites economic development with legality, growth with integrity, and opportunity with public responsibility,” the Legal Counsel stated.
For her part, Laura González Hernández, Secretary of Economic Development, emphasized that the Certification of the Real Estate Sector Knowledge Course directly impacts legal and asset security and allows this industry to meet quality and trust standards, in addition to advancing compliance with regulations in this sector.
