2

Christmas has arrived in Cuernavaca! You can find plenty of activities to celebrate the holiday season to the fullest. If you’re looking for fun plans to spend time with family, your partner, or friends, here are some ideas to enjoy this December:

The Teopanzolco Cultural Center in Cuernavaca will celebrate with “La Posada de Teopanzolco,” an event that aims to celebrate the holiday tradition in the community next Saturday, December 20th.

Admission is completely free; however, space is limited, so it’s important to arrive early to avoid missing out on the activities, which begin at 8:00 p.m.

Among the activities will be traditional piñatas, punch, and a performance by “La Bendición,” a salsa and tropical music group from Mexico City.

As part of the “Christmas Eve Festival,” Barranca Chapultepec Park has prepared a program of Christmas movie afternoons at the Cinema Ahuehuete. To access the screenings, you only need to pay the 10-peso park entrance fee.

Mark your calendars and don’t miss a fun afternoon at the movies:

Saturday, December 6: The Grinch / 5:30 p.m.

Sunday, December 7: Shrek 2 / 5:30 p.m.

Saturday, December 13: The Polar Express / 5:30 p.m.

Sunday, December 14: Krampus / 5:30 p.m.

Saturday, December 20: Rise of the Guardians / 5:30 p.m.

Sunday, December 21: DreamWorks Christmas Shorts / 5:30 p.m.

If music is more your style, you can attend the performance by the Children’s and Youth Choir of the Cuernavaca Cathedral, next Saturday, December 20, at 6:30 p.m. at the Cuernavaca Cathedral. Admission is free.

Alternatively, you can attend the Christmas Concert by the Mexican Navy Philharmonic Orchestra on Sunday, December 14th, at the esplanade of the Palace of Cortés. This family-friendly event begins at 5:00 p.m. and admission is free.
