The formal sector of the Historic Center supports actions to regulate commerce

Business owners in the Historic Center expressed their support for the measures implemented by the municipality of Querétaro to regulate informal street vending in the area, considering it necessary to maintain equitable conditions for those operating within the formal economy.

René Loya Poletti, representative of the Chamber of Commerce in Querétaro, pointed out that established businesses face high costs, with rents that can reach up to 200,000 pesos per month, in addition to taxes and benefits for their employees. Therefore, he emphasized that enforcing the law is fundamental to avoid disadvantages compared to those seeking to operate without meeting the same requirements.

He indicated that the majority of artisans have accepted the alternatives proposed by the municipality, while only a small group remains opposed.

The Chamber reiterated its willingness to engage in dialogue with all sectors involved, with the goal of ensuring that commercial activity in the Historic Center develops in an orderly manner and under clear regulations.
