The Basic Education Services Unit in the State of Querétaro (USEBEQ) announced that the end-of-year holidays will begin this Friday, December 19, for 356,335 students in 2,114 public basic education schools across the state, according to the school calendar of the Ministry of Public Education (SEP).
Of the total number of students taking the break, 2,402 are in early childhood and special education; 50,878 are in preschool; 200,749 are in elementary school; and 102,306 are in middle school, including technical, general, and distance learning programs.
The holiday period will also apply to 14,058 teachers in public schools affiliated with USEBEQ, of whom 304 work in early childhood and special education, 2,135 in preschool, 6,784 in elementary school, and 4,835 in middle school.
Regarding educational institutions, 28 early childhood and special education schools, 616 preschools, 1,091 elementary schools, and 379 public middle schools will suspend activities throughout the state.
Educational authorities specified that school activities will resume on Monday, January 12, 2026, after the vacation period, and encouraged families to take advantage of this time for rest and togetherness.
