The 2025 Migrant Caravan saw 5,200 vehicles enter Querétaro state, carrying an estimated 20,000 people. This represents a historic increase compared to previous years and solidifies the state as the primary destination for the December return of Mexican nationals residing in the United States, reported the State Civil Protection Coordination.

Eight out of ten participating families headed to municipalities in the Sierra Gorda region, primarily Jalpan de Serra, Arroyo Seco, Landa de Matamoros, and Pinal de Amoles. The remainder continued their journey to San Luis Potosí, Guanajuato, Zacatecas, Hidalgo, the State of Mexico, Michoacán, and Jalisco.

It is worth noting that approximately 9,200 people participated in 2024, while 9,520 migrants participated in 2023, demonstrating a growth of more than double in this twentieth edition.

The escort operation involved Civil Protection from the municipalities of El Marqués, Corregidora, and Querétaro, as well as the Secretariat of Citizen Security, the Querétaro Fire Department, the La Lagunita Fire Department, the Jalpan de Serra Volunteer Fire Department, and authorities from the receiving mountain municipalities. The National Guard, the National Migration Institute, and the Green Angels (roadside assistance service) also participated.

During the journey, support was provided to approximately 20 vehicles that experienced mechanical failures, flat tires, electrical issues, and fuel shortages.

The group entered Querétaro territory around 8:00 p.m. and subsequently dispersed according to their final destinations. No major incidents were reported.
