State Government launches security operation for the 2025 holiday season

The State Government officially launched its Tourist Assistance and Support Program for the holiday season, which runs from December 19, 2025, to January 11, 2026. During this period, more than 341,000 people are expected to visit the city of Oaxaca, Huatulco Bays, and Puerto Escondido.

Representing Governor Salomón Jara Cruz, the Secretary of Government (Sego), Jesús Romero López, emphasized that public safety is a priority for the current state administration. Therefore, in coordination with all three levels of government, efforts are underway to guarantee social peace and protection for visitors to the state.

The Director of the Oaxaca Fire Department, Jorge Arturo Rivas Fernández del Río, announced that assistance will be deployed on highways, in tourist centers, commercial areas, and at high-traffic events such as the Night of the Radishes celebration in the city of Oaxaca, with more than 380 personnel from various agencies.

Constant monitoring will also be conducted through the Command, Control, Communications, Coordination, and Intelligence Center (C5i) to support actions on the ground.

The Undersecretary of Tourism Development for the Ministry of Tourism, José Hernández Cárdenas, announced that 12 information booths have been set up in the Central Valleys, Coast, and Mixteca regions, staffed by 45 tourism ambassadors who will provide direct assistance to visitors.
