Despite the supposed increased security provided by the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) and the National Guard on the Parral-Chihuahua highway, armed men stole a pickup truck from Mexican nationals near Zapien.
The unfortunate incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. this Thursday when a family from the United States was traveling on the highway toward the neighboring state of Durango.
They were traveling in a white 2019 Dodge RAM pickup truck when, near the community of Zapien, they were intercepted by armed men.
The men forced the family out of the vehicle, took their belongings and the truck, and then left them stranded on the highway. Fortunately, no violence was used, so no one was injured.
This new violent incident contradicts the multiple statements issued by the FGE (Attorney General’s Office) indicating constant security and surveillance on the highway, where the corporation even states that the highway is very safe to travel on.
