“Regarding the president’s remarks during today’s morning press conference, I believe it is necessary to clarify Grupo Salinas’ position with complete transparency and responsibility.
Our intention is clear: to put an end to this episode and definitively overcome any differences with the government. We have always been open, willing to engage in dialogue, and committed to reaching an institutional solution. We have never sought confrontation, but rather legal certainty, legality, and clear rules that allow us to resolve these fundamental issues. Grupo Salinas’s commitment to fully complying with its tax obligations is unquestionable and fully documented. During the period covered by this dispute alone, we have contributed more than 285 billion pesos to the public treasury, reflecting our ongoing commitment to the country.
The existing differences are limited exclusively to the treatment of tax losses corresponding to the fiscal years 2008 through 2013, which were deemed inadmissible by the courts. In particular, there is disagreement regarding surcharges and adjustments, as a significant portion of these amounts stems from interpretations and actions.” from the tax authority itself, which gave rise to the litigation and which, moreover, have been prolonged by the judicial system’s timeline.

I believe that the most responsible and prudent course of action, both on our part and on the part of the Government, is to wait until January for the Tax Administration Service (SAT) to provide in writing the basis for the amount it claims is owed, totaling 31 billion pesos, and to deliver a clear, detailed, and transparent breakdown of the corresponding calculations.
Only with objective, verifiable information, fully supported by law, will it be possible to reach a fair solution, close this chapter institutionally, and strengthen the rule of law that Mexico needs.”
