The Oaxaca Tourism Secretariat (Sectur Oaxaca) invites the public to participate this Saturday, December 20, and Monday, December 22, in the activities that are part of the 128th annual Night of the Radishes, a unique celebration in the world.
On December 20, the Radish Harvest will take place in El Tequio Forest, an event promoted by the Secretariat of Agricultural Development and Rural Development (Sefader), with the support of Sectur, which will provide free transportation for residents and visitors interested in attending.
Transportation from the El Andador travel agency will depart at 6:45 a.m. from Juárez Park in El Llano and will offer return service after the event concludes, around 12:00 p.m.
At the same location, the Oaxaca Folkloric Group will present a performance about the cultivation and harvesting of the vegetable and the origins of this tradition.
On December 22nd, the Night of the Radishes Festival will take place, beginning at 6:00 PM at the Fountain of the Eight Regions and concluding in the city’s main square, the Zócalo.
At the Zócalo, Grupo Vibración will perform at 8:00 PM; Aarón y su Grupo Ilusión at 10:00 PM; and Alberto Karú at 1:00 AM.
