The president of the Durango Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies (ABITEC), Argelia Guadalupe Hernández Vázquez, pointed out that the end of the year represents a key period for the tourism sector, due to the increase in visitors and the interest of the local population in taking advantage of the activities offered during the holiday season.

She stated that this December, the promotion of tourist sites and attractions in the capital was boosted, which helped strengthen tourism activity in the final weeks of the year. “It’s a season that allows us to showcase the various tourist assets and for both visitors and Durango residents to enjoy them,” she said.

Hernández Vázquez specified that ABITEC comprises more than 40 companies that offer transportation, hotel, travel agency, cabin, and adventure tourism services, thus expanding the options for those looking to vacation or enjoy recreational activities without leaving the state.

He added that throughout 2025, the sector maintained coordinated efforts with municipal and state authorities to improve the quality of tourism services and strengthen partnerships that contribute to positioning Durango as a tourist destination.

Finally, he emphasized that despite security concerns in neighboring states, Durango remained a viable option for ending the year with opportunities for rest, recreation, and connecting with nature.

Finally, he acknowledged the municipal government’s efforts in tourism. “At ABITEC, we recognize the municipal government’s work in creating spaces and developing tourism assets to promote during these holidays so that everyone can fully enjoy them,” he concluded.
