Cuautlancingo, Atlixco, and Zacatlán offer free Illuminated Villages to enjoy this holiday season with family, friends, or even on your own in Puebla.
The lighting, colors, decorations, and the surrounding scenery create a welcoming space to relax for a while.
Be sure to wear sneakers, dress warmly, and charge your phone so you don’t miss any photos. These locations also offer food vendors and amusement rides, which do have a cost.
A giant teddy bear, Santa’s gift factory, a life-size reindeer-drawn sleigh, and an illuminated hot air balloon are just some of the figures you can enjoy at the Illuminated Village in Cuautlancingo, located in El Ameyal Recreational Park.
The park features a large lake where families of ducks swim back and forth. Boats are also available for exploring the lake at night.
In addition to strolling through several meters of Christmas lights and decorations, they also offer free circus performances, amusement rides, and a food court.
Atlixco boasts another of the most popular Illuminated Villages among locals and tourists alike, as the beauty of the location and the climate perfectly complement the Christmas colors and decorations.
Here, you’ll find 1.5 kilometers of Christmas figures along Hidalgo Avenue, the main square (zócalo), Nicolás Bravo Avenue, 10 de Marzo Street, 20 de Noviembre Street, and Revolución Park.
There’s also a food court, crafts, and amusement rides, which do have a cost and vary depending on what you choose.
Without a doubt, another municipality where the lights add to the attraction is Zacatlán, where several streets are adorned with illuminated tunnels, decorative figures, and Christmas themes.
Here, in addition to enjoying the decorations, you can sample traditional apple cider or the unique cheese bread.
Other municipalities where you can visit their illuminated main squares are San Pedro Cholula, San Andrés Cholula, Xiotepec, Tepeojuma, Izúcar de Matamoros, Huaquechula, Libres, Chignahuapan and Tezuitlán.
