Senior Citizen Clubs strengthen care for older people in Querétaro

Support for older adults in Querétaro is being strengthened through the Senior Citizen Clubs Program, promoted by the Querétaro State Secretariat of Social Development (SEDESOQ). This program offers spaces for social interaction, comprehensive care, and health promotion for people aged 60 and over.

Currently, the program benefits 5,127 older adults through 50 clubs that operate three times a week in the state’s 18 municipalities. These clubs have become vital meeting places where participants stay active, connected, and have access to basic social and health services.

The Senior Citizen Clubs offer talks and workshops, as well as group and individual counseling on nutrition, medical care, and psychological support—activities that contribute to improving the physical and emotional well-being of this population group.

As part of the comprehensive support provided, the clubs offer hot meals, which enhances the daily well-being of older adults and supports their quality of life, especially in communities where access to services is limited.

The clubs are located throughout the state, with a greater presence in the municipalities of Querétaro, San Juan del Río, Tequisquiapan, Corregidora, and El Marqués, ensuring accessible and personalized service. Each club has a maximum capacity of 350 people, allowing for appropriate and high-quality service.

These initiatives reflect the commitment of the Government of the State of Querétaro, through SEDESOQ, to improving the quality of life and social integration of older adults.
