The Oaxaca State Attorney General’s Office (FGEO) obtained a formal indictment against a man identified as S.J.R.M., charged with aggravated homicide in the Sierra Sur region.
The incident occurred in the early morning hours of February 3, 2020, when the victim, identified as R.I.P.J., was with his brothers on Independencia Street in Candelaria Loxicha. The accused arrived and attacked him with a bladed weapon (knife), inflicting wounds to various parts of his body that caused his death.
The victim died while receiving medical attention at a community clinic due to the severity of the stab wounds.
The Regional Deputy Prosecutor’s Office for the Coast deployed a multidisciplinary team to the scene of the crime and carried out the investigative work that led to the arrest of the now-accused individual. He was subsequently presented before the competent authority that had requested his presence for due legal process.
The judge presiding over the case issued a formal indictment against S.J.R.M. and imposed the precautionary measure of justified pretrial detention, granting a three-month period for the completion of the supplementary investigation.
