With the aim of offering an up-to-date overview of artistic life in the state, showcasing the development of its creators and performers, strengthening their careers, and fostering close dialogue between cultural agents and the public, the State Government, through the Zacatecas Institute of Culture (IZC) “Ramón López Velarde,” issued a call for submissions to professional artists and artistic groups residing in the state to participate in the program of the 40th Zacatecas Cultural Festival.
The premier cultural event for the people of Zacatecas, which will take place from March 28 to April 11, 2026, seeks to bring together proposals for music, theater, dance, opera, and interdisciplinary performances, in order to reflect the diversity, richness, and vitality of the Zacatecas artistic scene.
The call for submissions is open to artists with a proven track record who are interested in presenting projects that engage diverse audiences and strengthen the presence of local talent at one of the most important festivals in the country.
Performing artists, groups, or soloists residing in the state of Zacatecas are eligible to participate, organized into three categories: emerging artists with one to three years of experience and performance history.
Professional artists with projects developed over at least three years and exhibited in various venues are also eligible, as are established artists and projects with proven performances at national and international forums and stages.
Proposals must fall within disciplines such as concert music, jazz and blues; popular and traditional music; rock in all its subgenres; classical, contemporary, or flamenco dance; theater and storytelling; and interdisciplinary projects that align with the festival’s programming sections.
Projects will be accepted via email from the date of this announcement until Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., at [email protected]. The rules can be found at the following link: https://goo.su/ez4YAc3
