Mexico wants to live without corruption.

It would be ideal if the President of the Nation, during the remainder of her term, were to recognize that one of the fundamental ideals of democracy and the rule of law is the submission of her power to the requirements established in the Constitution of Carranza. The major problem with her governance in matters of justice lies in the fact that her cognitive strategies prevent any effort to purge the justice system of so much corruption, hoping to avoid a failure that would damage her self-esteem. This problem has a long history with previous leaders.

For decades, the fundamental problem of democracy in Mexico has been, and will continue to be, preventing acts of corruption within the justice system, since this is the primary pillar of state sovereignty. The nation’s independent legal profession, from its vantage point of observation, has been noticing the lack of action to prevent and punish this pernicious power of corruption.

For the Federal Executive Branch, both past and present, political considerations have always prevented the reform of the justice system. Consequently, the decisions of corrupt officials have made them complicit in this phenomenon.

This political clique is unwilling to initiate oversight and accountability procedures, as they believe there is no evidence to suggest that the justice system is dysfunctional.

This flawed way of thinking and governing prioritizes the criticism it attracts, ignoring the fact that the Federal Penal Code itself clearly hinders the attainment of the justice that Mexico requires.

Our national legal framework, which independent lawyers know and understand perfectly, includes mechanisms to facilitate the prompt reform of the justice system. Therefore, it is understood that the only way to govern effectively and sustainably is by guaranteeing that the Executive Branch acts within the framework of our rule of law.

The arguments that rulers have always used are subject to criticism from both their supporters and the opposition; it is impossible for Mexico to continue maintaining this way of thinking and governing indefinitely.

Mexico needs to be free of corruption.
