In the first nine days of January, according to the Missing and Unlocated Persons Unit (DNOL), six women have gone missing in Oaxaca, two of them minors. The Mixteca and Central Valleys regions have the highest number of disappearances so far in January.
In the last few hours, families have reported the disappearance of three more women, two of them minors: one from Salina Cruz and the other from Santa María Tonameca. The search continues for Maribel Rojas Santiago, Zenaida Miranda Esperón, and Yolanda Martínez Cruz.
Daleyza Guendulain Pinacho, 15, was last seen on Tuesday, January 6, in the Agua Blanca neighborhood of Santa María Tonameca, in the coastal region of Oaxaca. Among her distinguishing features are two scars on her left arm, one at shoulder height and the other on the upper part of her wrist, and a small mole on the left side of her nose.

Abril Iliam Marcial Orozco, also 15 years old, was last seen in the Agua Blanca neighborhood of Salina Cruz on Monday, January 5. The minor is of slender build, with a dark complexion, oval face, small forehead, thick eyebrows, medium-sized light brown eyes, small nose, large mouth, full lips, oval chin, and is approximately 1.56 meters tall.
In the last 24 hours, the disappearance of 72-year-old Yolanda Martínez Cruz was reported. She was last seen on January 7 in Oaxaca de Juárez. Among her distinguishing features are a scar on her right forearm and a cesarean section scar.
Similarly, the disappearance of 29-year-old Marlene Bautista Juárez was reported. She was last seen in the Lobera neighborhood of Tlaxiaco. The woman has a scar on her lower abdomen and is missing an upper incisor tooth.
Meanwhile, authorities and family members continue searching for Zenaida Miranda Esperón, 45, who was last seen on January 5 in the Lomas Panorámicas neighborhood of Oaxaca de Juárez. Among her distinguishing features is a scar on her left knee. Zenaida was wearing a dark blue denim dress, black flats, a short black sweater, and carrying a small black backpack.

Also missing is Maribel Rojas Santiago, 30, originally from the city of Tlaxiaco, who was last seen on Sunday, January 4, in the city of Tlaxiaco.
“Any information, no matter how small, is relevant—if anyone has seen her recently, had contact with her—it could be a great help. If you have any information that could shed light on her or help us locate her, I would be very grateful if you would let me know,” Maribel’s sister pleaded.
According to the feminist organization Consorcio Oaxaca, at least 1,139 women have disappeared in the state of Oaxaca between December 2022 and November 24, 2025.
