In the city of Xalapa, capital of the state of Veracruz, a group of people organized and held a protest against the recent U.S. intervention in Venezuela.

The protesters broke and burned a piñata in the shape of President Donald Trump as part of their expression of discontent.

During the protest, they stated that the entry of the U.S. military and the arrest of Maduro were improper.

One of the protesters asserted that this has always been the U.S. modus operandi, and that they are seeking to raise awareness among the public, fearing that this will be repeated in Mexico.

He noted that there are even those who support Trump and his supposed fight against drug trafficking, but he asserted that this is not the case and that the U.S. is only pursuing its own interests.

He said that the public should seek information and a broader geopolitical understanding so as not to believe the lies of the Americans.

“It’s an informational campaign about what’s happening. There are even people who applaud Maduro’s arrest. We’re denouncing the methods used and what’s behind it,” he commented.

In that regard, they emphasized that it’s not an expression of support for Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, but rather an attempt to expose the improper actions of the neighboring country to the north.

Foto
