Contingency Plan Activated and OOMISLIM Intensifies Water Extraction Efforts in Coordination with the Municipal DIF – Areas like Tres Cruces and Benito Juárez Report Severe Damage
In a scenario that took authorities and the community by surprise, much heavier than expected rainfall has battered the municipality since yesterday, leading to the declaration of a state of emergency and the activation of the contingency plan to address the flooding and standing water affecting dozens of neighborhoods.
Given the severity of the situation, OOMISLIM launched a comprehensive response operation, deploying specialized crews and high-capacity pumping equipment to critical points in the city. Efforts are primarily focused on the Tres Cruces, Benito Juárez, Josefa, and Ocaña sectors, where water accumulation has blocked main roads and jeopardized the safety of residents. The operation was also urgently extended to the Nueva Esperanza neighborhood, where standing water is already affecting homes and requires immediate drainage.
Faced with the growing demand for assistance, OOMISLIM is working closely with the Municipal DIF (System for Integral Family Development), maintaining constant communication to channel citizen reports and direct brigades to the areas most in need. “No affected area will be left without supervision,” official sources assured, while a specialized team tours the neighborhoods to diagnose damage to public infrastructure and assess the extent of the impact.
While the extraction and cleanup efforts continue at full speed, authorities have activated an alert for the possible installation of temporary shelters, should weather conditions worsen or flooding force the evacuation of more families. The presence of the teams will remain strong in the coming days, adjusting to the needs that arise due to the weather, with a commitment to restoring normalcy and safety to all affected areas as soon as possible.
