Human remains have once again been discovered along highways in Baja California Sur. The State Attorney General’s Office confirmed the discovery after an anonymous tip to emergency services reported clandestine graves in three pits located along the highway between Ciudad Constitución and La Paz.

“The Baja California Sur Attorney General’s Office has opened an investigation following the 911 call alerting authorities to the location of clandestine graves.”

Agents from the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for the Search for Missing or Disappeared Persons arrived at the scene and confirmed the discovery of three clandestine graves containing four sets of human remains. The area was secured.

The Baja California Sur Attorney General’s Office has begun DNA testing to identify the relatives of the deceased.

This discovery expands the area of possible new findings in the state, since the area where multiple discoveries had been generated during 2025 was the La Paz to San Juan de la Costa highway, where —until December of last year— more than 90 bodies had already been located, according to data from the citizen collective Búsqueda x La Paz.
