The state of Querétaro reaffirmed its position as one of Mexico’s most important tourist destinations, receiving thousands of visitors throughout 2025, drawn by its rich history, culture, and natural beauty. Among the most popular sites was the Historic Center of Querétaro, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which continued to be the main tourist attraction thanks to its colonial architecture, emblematic plazas, and iconic aqueduct.

The state capital further solidified its position as the cultural engine of the region after being internationally recognized as one of the best cities to visit in 2026, strengthening its appeal to both domestic and international tourists. According to official figures from the Querétaro State Tourism Secretariat (SECTUR), headed by Adriana Vega Vázquez Mellado, the state closed 2025 with a record-breaking 24.2 million visitors.

Outside the capital, Peña de Bernal, in the municipality of Ezequiel Montes, remained the second most important tourist destination in the state, receiving around one million tourists annually. This destination stood out for housing the third largest monolith in the world, as well as for its adventure, cultural, and gastronomic tourism offerings, which positioned it as one of Querétaro’s most iconic locations.
