A member of the National Guard was beaten to death on the parking ramp of a shopping complex in Mazatlán’s Golden Zone on Thursday night, January 15.
According to initial reports, a man’s body was found on the ramp of one of the parking levels of the complex located on Camarón Sábalo Avenue, in the heart of the tourist area.
Police officers responded to the report and found the body.
Reports indicate that the victim was a federal agent, approximately 35 years old, who was off duty.
The body showed multiple blows, especially to the head and ribs, which could have been caused by a blunt object such as a stick or bat.
Members of the Mexican Army and the National Guard arrived at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity.
