At the International Tourism Fair (FITUR), as part of Mexico’s promotional activities, the official presentation of the 2026 Carrera Panamericana took place. Zacatecas will be the finish line for this classic car race with international reach.

The presentation brought together the states that make up the official route of the 2026 edition: Chiapas, Veracruz, Mexico City, Querétaro, Michoacán, Guanajuato, San Luis Potosí, Aguascalientes, and Zacatecas.

The purpose of this meeting was to strengthen coordination among the participating states and highlight the historical, tourist, and cultural value that the Carrera Panamericana represents for the destinations along its route.

The Carrera Panamericana is a route of more than 3,500 kilometers across the country, connecting roads, cities, and communities.

Through this route, Mexico’s cultural, natural, and heritage diversity is showcased, as well as the importance of road tourism as a means of regional integration. The 2026 edition will take place from October 16 to 22 and will conclude in the state of Zacatecas.

The presentation was led by Josefina Rodríguez, Secretary of Tourism for the Government of Mexico, who highlighted the strategic importance of the Carrera Panamericana for the country’s tourist destinations, as it promotes connectivity between states, encourages land transportation, and strengthens ties with communities and Pueblos Mágicos (Magical Towns) along the route.

Zacatecas’ participation as the final destination allows it to consolidate its presence in international events and contribute to the promotion of its historical, cultural, and urban heritage.

The arrival of the Carrera Panamericana represents an opportunity to showcase the state as a venue for activities that integrate tourism, sports, and cultural identity, impacting various sectors linked to tourism.
