The Secretary of Tourism and Economic Development of Tabasco, Katia Ornelas Gil, stated that discussions are ongoing with companies and artists’ representatives to finalize the lineup for the 2026 Tabasco Fair.
“It’s going very well. As you know, this is always a controversial process, but we’re on track. We hope to finalize the lineup soon. We’ve already begun publishing invitations to the artists, and we’ll soon have a meeting with the Fair Committee to establish our strategies.”
She added that there will be changes to the program’s development: “Several modifications are being considered regarding distribution, logistics, and organization. We’re preparing for the Tabasco Forum, as it’s important that we have the logistical and security conditions in place to provide a great show for the people of Tabasco.”
Ornelas Gil noted that the state fair is being promoted at the International Tourism Fair (Fitur): “The videos provided some context for what we have to offer at this biggest celebration for the people of Tabasco.”
When asked if there would be adjustments to the lineup, she said, “The companies have different timelines, but rest assured that we are working seriously and professionally. Obviously, it’s very important for us, both for the promotion and for selling the destination, to announce the agreements we have through the artistic promoter in order to strengthen the presence of international artists. That’s why we’ve already announced what we have to offer, what we want.”
She added, “We’ve made progress, and I can’t give more details due to company matters; the international artists’ representatives have their own schedules. But you can trust that we will be confirming things little by little, and this also helps us stay in the state conversation.”
Regarding the pre-fair events, she said, “They’re practically ready to start. We’re waiting for the terms of the call for applications for the ambassadors to be finalized, establishing some details that need to be defined at the Fair Committee meeting, which we will announce soon.”
